It was in fact Craig’s father Aubrey that developed the basting sauce used on our steak and ribs that has become a cult favourite. In 1992, Craig moved to Australia with a dream of introducing the rich and diverse flavours of his South African heritage to the Australian culinary scene. He combined South African, Portuguese, and Australian cooking styles to create a unique dining experience, and thus, Hurricanes was established.

After the birth of their two children, Craig’s wife Laura joined the business, contributing her own talents and expertise. Together, they have grown Hurricanes into a world renowned establishment, blending family traditions with innovative cuisine. Sustainability has always been a core value at Hurricanes. From sourcing locally-produced ingredients to implementing eco-friendly practices, the restaurant is committed to reducing its environmental footprint.

Hurricane’s Grill Castle Hill  is the newest addition to the Hurricane’s family. Situated in the beautiful Piazza at Castle Towers Shopping Centre on Level 2, our magnificent new venue is sure to delight. Spectacularly designed by Guru projects our latest venue is a combination of beautiful spaces but retaining the Hurricane’s family feel that you know and love for the last 28 years. From mouth-watering ribs and juicy tender steaks basted in our famous sauce to a beautiful selection of chicken, fish and salads, we have something for everyone.
